We live on a street that was built on farm land, half the houses look like this. Into bad airbrushing at the mo.
I’ve not worked like this for a few years now. I did a lot of commercial work that tired me of working this way. Recently though I’ve fancied having another go. I have a few ideas for over summer. Photography will be a part but I want to get a decent amount of drawing done too after too long without it! I bought a camera with film in from a charity shop. I reckon the film has been in the camera for 15 years or more. Here’s one of the shots, with no manipulation. Taken with a Halina 260 and Trueprint 100 film. I draw and take photos. Sometimes I write. Sometimes I do what is known as ‘illustration’. I work as a university lecturer. I run Café Royal Books, a publishing house I set up in 2005, specialising in artists books and zines. Field Trip Magazine is a recent project that focuses on analogue photography.
